Reindeer Operations Administrator Job Summary

The North Pole Reindeer Operations Department (NPROD) is excited to announce several openings for qualified and aspiring Reindeer Operations Administrators (ROAs). Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph (and their lesser-known but equally loved alternates) are extremely hardworking animals that require special grooming and meticulous care—the fate of Christmas Eve depends on it. Our department is looking for knowledgeable elves who can manage the high-pressure environment of Santa’s stable with confidence.

Education and Experience Required

To be eligible for a position at the NPROD, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Speak Reinish and Reindeerian fluently
  • Have successfully completed a diploma in Christmas Reindeer Studies from the North Pole Veterinary School
  • Be able to fly a reindeer (previous experience in reindeer flying competitions is considered an asset, but not mandatory)
  • Possess a basic understanding of weather patterns as they pertain to reindeer exercise regimens
  • Demonstrate mastery of antler grooming best practices

If you have an acceptable combination of education and experience in the above criteria, we invite you to apply!

A Day in the Reindeer Operations Department

Working Conditions at the NPROD

In Reindeer Operations, we’re a dynamic and resourceful bunch. Holiday season after holiday season, we keep Santa’s trusted companions in peak physical shape. A typical day in the stable offers much variety and demands much leadership. On any given day, you might need to resolve a brotherly dispute between Vixen and Donner or troubleshoot Rudolph’s nose after a particularly cold flying course.

Contrary to the popular Christmas carol, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” there are many more than nine reindeer in Santa’s stable. The famous nine make up only one of Santa’s sleigh-pulling units, but our department cares for four other teams as well. These reindeer, combined with the reindeer breeding division of our department, make us responsible for over 50 reindeer in total.
