Sweets Master’s Job Summary

The North Pole Confectionary (NPC) is a tastebud-tantalizer of a work placement. Our Department’s sweet production plays an integral role in the worldwide holiday season experience, and it’s a responsibility that we take very seriously. Delve deep with us into the elfish culinary craft of making human-sized chocolates, pastries, bonbons, and breads.

Education and Experience Required

The Sweet Master position is a highly sought-after career path in the North Pole that requires a sophisticated and discerning palate. To apply for this role, you must:

• Demonstrate mastery of elf-to-human unit conversions
• Pass a 24-hour blindfolded taste test, during which you must sample and correctly identify over 100 000 flavours from around the world
• Develop your own Christmas candy recipe (former NPC creations include egg nog gum drops, evergreen-popcorn fudge, and caramel-grape slushies)
• Maintain excellent rapport with the Oompa Loompas, with whom the Sweet Masters often collaborate
• Book regular appointments with a reputable Elf dentist (proof of appointment history required)

Working Conditions at the NPC

Working as a Sweet Master is a demanding job. To work in the North Pole Confectionary, you need superior time management skills (most elves at the NPC have three watches on them at any given time—one for chocolate moulds, one for baked goods, and one for candies.

As you can imagine, the Confectionary is an exciting working environment. To keep our work culture fun and engaging, all cooks in the kitchen must abide by three overarching rules:

1. Label your sweets. The NPC will not serve as a mediator between confection-related disputes.
2. Your chef’s hat must not be taller than yourself (for balance purposes).
3. Abide by the rule of two: always double your recipe, because two tasty treats are better than one!
